Our HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting course is designed for:

This training covers first aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis management, tailored to the needs of children and infants.

Course Overview - Express

Chidlcare First Aid Course & CPR

Provide First Aid, inc HLTAID011, HLTAID009, HLTAID012

Our express course is designed for people who have completed first aid training or a course in the past, or need to do a refresher course.

This course covers all the normal practical assessment required for national certification for First Aid Training in Australia.

Course Requirements:

  • Book online and complete the online video tutorials and quizzes prior to the course workshop date.
  • Sign up for a FREE USI.
  • Attend the face-to-face practical assessment session.

Entry Requirements:

Participants must have the physical capacity to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor on an infant and adult.

Cost:

$120

All first aid training includes the following certifications: HLTAID009, HLTAID010, HLTAID012

Course Delivery:

This course is usually delivered at a Local First Aid Courses Canberra training facility or location – please contact us if you would like to book group training at your location.

Units Being Delivered:

  • HLTAID012 Provide First Aid
  • HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Course Duration:

  • Blended delivery: Approx 2-3 hours online training  + 60-90min Face to Face practical session.

Performance Tasks and Practical Scenarios:

  • Perform CPR on an adult (including the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)
  • Complete a first aid incident report form based on a simulated first aid scenario
  • Perform CPR on an infant
  • Manage a casualty with anaphylaxis
  • Manage a casualty with asthma
  • Manage a choking casualty
  • Manage a casualty with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock, requiring minor wound cleaning
  • Manage a casualty with a nosebleed
  • Manage a casualty with a fracture and dislocation
  • Manage a casualty with a sprain and strain
  • Manage a casualty with envenomation (snake/ funnel-web spider bite)

Theory Assessment:

Online assessment consists of multiple-choice questions. You need to get all the questions correct to receive your First Aid Certificate.

Provider of Training and Assessment:

This course is delivered and assessed by Local First Aid Courses Canberra in partnership with ABC First Aid RTO 3399.

What To Bring On Your Day Of The Course:

What You Will Receive:

On successful completion of the course,  ABC Training will email you a link to a soft copy of your first aid certificate . This is valid for 3 years from the course completion date for First Aid and 1 year for CPR.

Renewals:

To renew your certificate before the expiry date, simply book the express version of the course using our booking calendar . Then complete the 60-minute face-to-face practical assessment and online training.

Cancellations or Rescheduling:

Please see our Booking Terms and Conditions. All booking cancellations or rescheduling will incur a $40.00 fee. In cases where less than 12 hours notice of cancellation or reschedule is provided, the full course fee may be charged (this also includes no shows).
