Childcare First Aid Training in Canberra
Our HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting course is designed for:
- Early childhood educators
- Teachers
- Childcare workers and
- Parents and carers
This training covers first aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis management, tailored to the needs of children and infants.
Course Details
Format: Blended (online + practical assessment in Belconnen)
Duration: ~3 hours online + approx 90 minutes face to face practical session
Certification: Nationally recognised and valid for 3 years (CPR updated yearly)
Location: Belconnen training centre, free parking, public transport nearby

Course Requirements:
Entry Requirements:
- You must book in for your course, you can either do this through our online calander or by giving us a call 0488814080
- Complete online training (prior to course date).
- You will need a USI to receive your certificate – you can sign up for one if you don’t have one when you book in for your course.
- Attend the 60-minute face-to-face practical training and instruction session, please note this is an informative assessment session – you will need to be able to answer question and demonstrate the skills gained through the online theory training.
Participants must have the physical capacity to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor on an adult, child and baby.
Course Delivery:
This course is delivered at our premises in Belconnen, if you wish to organise training for your group, please give us a call or email. We are able to come to your location if you have 4 or more people.
Course Duration:
Enhanced safe delivery: 60 minutes + 3 hours self-paced online learning.

- Performance tasks and practical scenarios
- Theory assessment
Provider of Training and Assessment:
This childcare first aid course is delivered and assessed by Local First Aid Courses in partnership and under the auspice of ABC Training Pty Ltd RTO 3399.
What to Bring:
- Comfortable clothing
- You must have completed all the online training prior to attending.
What You Will Receive:
On successful completion of the course, meaning your have successful completed met the competency requirements of the course.you will receive a soft copy of a first aid certificate that is valid for 3 years from the course completion date. Please note the CPR certificate which is delivered as part of your course is only valid for 12 months.
Cancellations or Re-scheduling:
Please see the Booking Terms and Conditions. All booking cancellations or rescheduling will incur a $40.00 fee. In cases where less than 48 hours notice of cancellation or reschedule is provided, the full course fee may be charged (this also includes no shows). For instant mistake booking we will re-schedule for free.
