At Local First Aid Courses, we have two delivery types for undertaking your first aid certificate.
Our “Express” course is specifically a Refresher of your First Aid and CPR training. It is specifically designed for people who have completed some a First Aid training or a course in the past, either recently or a few years ago.
Our “Standard” course is for people who have not completed any first aid and CPR training before and are completing the training for the first time.
Details about both types of delivery and the calendar to book in for both is listed below. Please note: All our First Aid Courses including Express come with CPR. You do not have to book your CPR separately.
Course Overview - Express
Refresher First Aid Course & CPR
Provide First Aid, includes HLTAID011, HLTAID009, HLTAID010
Our express course is designed for people who have completed first aid training or a course in the past, or need to do a refresher course.
This course covers all the normal practical assessment required for national certification for First Aid Training in Australia.

First Aid Course and CPR
HLTAID011, HLTAID009, HLTAID010
This course is for people who have not completed a first aid course before. It includes some additional information not covered specifically in the express course.
This course covers all the normal practical assessment required for national certification for First Aid Training in Australia.
- Approx - 90 min Face to Face practical session
- Approx - 3 hours online training depending on the students background knowledge
- $125
- Participants will receive a free first aid manual at their practical training session.
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid Canberra Overview
Our Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) course is the standard requirement for most Australian workplaces. Whether you are a tradesperson, office professional, or community volunteer, this nationally recognised training provides the skills and confidence to manage a wide range of medical emergencies.
Course Delivery & Duration
We offer two flexible Blended Learning options to suit your experience level. Both include self-paced online theory (1–3 hours) followed by a hands-on practical session in Belconnen.
Refresher / Express: 60-minute face-to-face practical session.
First-Time / Standard: 90-minute face-to-face practical session.

Both options provide the same nationally accredited Statement of Attainment (issued by ABC First Aid RTO 3399) including:HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Entry Requirements
Physical Capacity: You must be able to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult and infant manikin on the floor.
Online Pre-work: Tutorials and quizzes must be completed online prior to your workshop date.
USI: A Unique Student Identifier is required for all participants. [Register for a free USI here].
Practical Skills & Assessments Participants will be assessed on their ability to manage real-world scenarios, including:
CPR & AED: Adult and infant resuscitation with defibrillator use.
Medical Emergencies: Managing asthma, anaphylaxis, and choking.
Trauma: Treating fractures, dislocations, sprains, strains, and nosebleeds.
Wound Care: Managing non-life-threatening bleeding and shock.
Local Hazards: Treatment for envenomation (snake and funnel-web spider bites).
Incident Reporting: Completing a first aid report based on a simulated event.
Location & Workplace Training Courses are held at our Belconnen training facility.
Onsite Group Bookings – We can deliver this training at your business location across Canberra.

What to Bring on the Day
Comfortable Clothing: You will be required to perform practical tasks on the floor.
Your USI Number: Ensure you have this ready for verification.
Renewals & Validity
First Aid: Valid for 3 years.
CPR Component: Industry standards recommend renewal every 12 months.
Easy Renewal: To stay compliant, simply book the Express version of this course through our booking calendar before your current certificate expires.
Cancellations & Rescheduling Please refer to our Booking Terms and Conditions for full details.
Standard Fee: A $40.00 fee may be applied to cancellations or rescheduling.
Notice Period: If less than 12 hours’ notice is provided (or in the case of a “no show”), the full course fee may be charged.
